I am a trauma-informed counseling student at NCCU pursuing dual licensure in clinical mental health and addictions treatment. My undergraduate education focused on political science, public policy, and history. As a former military wife of 20 years, I have extensive non-profit experience in diverse locations across the US with an intimate understanding of the needs of our veteran community. Other populations I have served include young children in under-resourced communities, incarcerated women, and individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. As a third generation citizen, I am passionate about confronting systemic barriers and work to reclaim, restore, and expand on the inherent dignity each person possesses. I am truly honored to begin my counseling journey as an intern with the integrated healthcare team at Duke PHMO and DukeWELL.
