Rebecca Kaplan

I received my Bachelors of Science in Psychology from Salem State University in 2018. I have over four years of experience in human services, specifically with individuals experiencing homelessness with co-occurring substance use disorder and psychiatric illnesses. I have been trained in the successful completion of social security/disability applications and look forward to supporting patients with this challenging process. I recently relocated to North Carolina from Massachusetts, and I am excited to join the DukeWELL team!

Mileny Espinal, BS

I am originally from Honduras. I am bilingual and a mother of two daughters and a grandmother of two grandbabies. I am certified bilingual through Duke Health and a notary public. I came to the United States when I was seventeen years old with my family. I have been in the medical filed since 2006 with Duke Health, and my goal is to retire from Duke Health. My hobbies are cooking, walking, dancing, fishing, and spending time with my family.

Megan Leet

I was born and raised in North Carolina.  I graduated from Meredith College in 2009 with a Bachelor's degree in Biology.  I love to garden and "chef it up" in the kitchen!  I also enjoy spending time with my family and three dogs!  My husband is a Kentucky native... so naturally, GO WILDCATS!

Lani Kee, MS

I am originally from Hawaii but have lived in many states as a result of being in a military family. I have lived in North Carolina since 1995. I obtained my BS in Human Resources from Concordia University in Ann Arbor, Michigan and my MS in Health Promotion from Nebraska Methodist College in Omaha, Nebraska. I was a collegiate athlete and love all types of sports. My career has spanned the healthcare field for over 25 years in fitness, wellness, health coaching, and health promotion. I love helping others become their best selves.

Koketta Shelton, MSW, LCSWA

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate (LCSWA). My focus is empowering survivors of abuse and other traumas to take control of their own healing processes through therapeutic support. I have experience working in the healthcare industry, as well as the community and nonprofit sectors, and servicing clients in crisis. My area of expertise is helping individuals with depression, anxiety, life changes, conflict in relationship, and interpersonal issues.

Debbie Royster

I have a great love for Durham and the Duke community and love working towards a healthier Durham. I currently serve on the community advisory board for Project Baseline, and I am a former community health organizer for Durham Health Innovations. I graduated from Livingstone College and am originally from Durham. In my spare time, I love walking the American Tobacco Trail and visiting Duke Gardens.

Dawn Winstead-Bass, BSBA

I began my career with Duke Health in March 2019 as a Financial Care Counselor at Duke Eye Center, where I worked closely with patients to help resolve financial barriers related to their healthcare. In November 2020, I joined the DukeWELL team, where I continued supporting patients and connecting them with resources to improve their overall health and well-being.

In 2024, I earned a bachelor of science in business administration from the Bryan School of Business and Economics at UNC Greensboro.

Crystal L Williams

I was born and raised in Durham, NC. I have been a part of Duke as a certified medical assistant for twelve years. My work at Duke has allowed me to gain valuable knowledge regarding patient care and access to health care. I am excited to be a part of DukeWELL.
