My experience as a registered nurse has included ortho/trauma, inpatient rehab, and primary care at the Cleveland Clinic, UNC, and Duke Health systems. I have had the good fortune to have worked with some of the best and brightest in the nursing field with each experience adding to my skill and competence. I am always eager to learn new things in all areas of my life. My nursing power lies in my core values of patient advocacy, engagement, education, and respect.

Amber Clayton, BSN, RN, PCCN

I earned my BSN from East Carolina University in 2003, and I have been a Duke nurse ever since! I am a North Carolina native and love to spend my spare time with my family and gardening. I have over twenty years in direct patient care with experience in neurosurgery and emergency medicine. I enjoy getting to know patients and what is important to them. I find gratification in helping them navigate the health system, educating them on their health problems, and overall supporting their well-being.

Libertie McDonald, BSN, RN, CN III, CMSRN

I have been with Duke for eighteen years, where I spent all of that time at Duke Regional Hospital. I have spent my career in the surgery population but have worked with many different types of patients from the most prestigious patient to the least prestigious ones. I like what I do due to the fact that I am making a difference in someone else's life and hopefully that difference is for the better.
